Finnish Lapphund Puppies
Aus. Ch. Watersedge Tru Colours (IID FIN) (Katja) delivered our final litter for the year 06.10.11. The sire is Aus. Ch. Herding Instinct's Herra Watersedge (IMP SWE).
Katja is a very special girl and managed to keep her pregnancy fairly quiet up until the last week or so! Katja has 2 females and 1 male.
Puppies are available to go to their new homes the weekend of the 17-18th December. All puppies from this litter have been adopted.

Welcome to Watersedge KennelsThank you for taking the time to help celebrate the stars past, present and future that have honoured the kennel since its inception. Since the beginning of 1994, Watersedge has campaigned 27 from 30 of the dogs which have been the foundation of our kennel - Australian Kelpies and Finnish Lapphunds - to their conformation titles. During this time we have also campaigned 3 to Grand Champion status. This does not include Champions owned and shown/trialled by others. We still have a few to go but these are our youngsters and these days they are more interested in Herding than in the Show Ring! We have commenced Herding as one of our pastimes and have both breeds represented with the initial titles to enable them to go forward into trialling. I believe in the old adage that a picture paints a thousand words. Other sites may contain lots more text for you to wade through; I have tried to keep this to a minimum where possible. So again welcome to our story and I hope you enjoy your visit. Watersedge Kennels are breeders of quality Australian Kelpies - Red, Chocolate & Black and more recently (September 2008) Red & Tan and Black & Tan. The kennel was established in 1993 with the purchase of my first show Kelpie. Kelpies were already an integral part of my life prior to this as my paternal grandmother was a breeder of working dogs and my maternal great grandmother bred and showed Dalmations. My late teens and twenties were spent on horseback with a Kelpie by my side. I cannot imagine not having these wonderful dogs as my companions. 2002 saw the introduction of a new breed - the Finnish Lapphund - much to my own amazement. To date we are still showcasing Australia's youngest Runner-Up Best in Show All Breeds Finnish Lapphund - Grand Ch Theldaroy Wild Not Me, the country's only female Grand Champion. 2005 saw the introduction of our first Finnish import Fidelis Haltiatar and her IID litter to FNL/LTU Ch Fidelis Alias Amicus. Watersedge is also the first to have been blessed with cream puppies! Puppies of either breed sometimes available as at Watersedge we believe in quality - not quantity. Enquiries welcome. The Watersedge Dog Blog October 2011Stardate..........2011October 24th Markku came to us from Kennel Herding Instinct's in Sweden. I can only thank his breeder Cattlin Marques for entrusting this special boy to us. Markku is a pleasure to show and is also a delight to have as a companion. He has already made his mark in Australia and I am sure that he has a very bright future still to come! October 23 Sooty has been waiting for the right person to come along and adopt him and we couldn't be more happy for him. He has found a companion in his new owner from the Fraser Coast and it is a match made in heaven. We wish both of them all of the happiness they deserve. Watersedge Hugo Boss (Reuben) has been adopted by a family, having met some of the relatives at this year's Melbourne Royal Show. Reuben may be seen in the show ring in the near future and Watersedge wishes his new family all the best for their future with Reuben. It is also time to celebrate the second birthday of the puppies from Elke's first litter to Aus. Grand Ch. Watersedge Alias Aleksi (IID FIN). Happy Birthday to Aus. Ch. Watersedge Little Black Dress (Sohvi), Watersedge Dressed To Impress (Luuka), Watersedge Black Tie Affair (Oki), Watersedge Black Tie And Tail (Miilo) and Watersedge Dressed For Success (Kosta). October 6th Katja had been keeping her secret to herself until very recently. It is a great achievement for my "kitten" and she has taken to motherhood like a duck to water. Many thanks to Dr Michael Woodcock from the Vet Lounge for taking care of Katja. October 2nd It has been far too much stress with Beyonce having had 3 encounters with paralysis ticks in the last week or so. It is a relief to know that Beyonce will be safe now. Many thanks to Wayne, Sue and of course Robyn Sharp - who will be campaining Beyonce - for taking her into their home during this time. I am sure Robyn will have a great time with Miss B while she awaits Beyonce's father's (Aus. Ch. Janoby All About Aslann) recovery from a recent injury. Knock 'em dead Robyn! Another tick was discovered on Aus. Ch. Watersedge Destiny's Child this morning. This is the 3rd that Beyonce has had in the last week! |
