June 25th
Yet another birthday for June!

Happy Birthday Ch. Watersedge Alias Anja (Sanni), Ch. Watersedge Sno White (Miia), Ch. Watersedge Sno Storm (Kustaa), Watersedge Sno Man (Tahvo) and Watersedge Sno Ball (Indy).

These puppies were from our second litter of Finnish Lapphunds between Grand Ch. Watersedge Alias Aleksi (IID FIN) (Aleksi) and Ch. Theldaroy Wild Wild Ways (Chey).

We have also said goodbye to 3 of the puppies from our Finnish Lapphund litter between Ch. Herding Instinct's Herra Watersedge (Imp SWE) (Markku) and Theldaroy KissMe It's Ezy (IID FIN) (Elke).

Watersedge Paco Rabanne (Erik) has left for his new home in Brisbane, Watersedge Gianni Versace (Finn formerly Wilhelm) has taken a plane trip with his family back to Sydney and Watersege Coco Chanel (Millie formerly Amber) has flown off to her new parents in Melbourne.

It is time to celebrate the living again.... Happy Birthday wishes to our own Finnish Lapphund, Watersedge All About Attitude (Kati). Kati turns 2 today!

Kati is our puppy from the litter in collaboration with Janoby Kennels between Grand Ch. Watersedge Alias Aleksi (IID FIN) (Aleksi) and Ch. Janoby All About Aura (Roara).

Happy Birthday also to Watersedge Secret Agent (Larry) - owned by Janoby Kennels; Ch. Watersedge Sno Drift - owned by Miavig Kennels; Watersedge Top Secret (Bodhi); Watersedge All About Affection (Talvi) and Watersedge Sno Belle (Miia).

June 16th
Today has been a day of mixed emotions. It has been a struggle knowing that we should be celebrating CJ's 15th birthday but instead we are missing him......

June 11th
Amid all of the drama of the preceding day, the time has come to say goodbye to 4 of the Finnish Lapphund puppies from the litter between Ch. Herding Instinct's Herra Watersedge (imp SWE) (Markku) and Ch. Watersedge Alias Anja (Sanni).

Watersedge Song For Guy (Rupert, formerly Ronan) and Watersedge Living Doll (Sheya formerly Velvet) have flown off to new homes in Victoria. Watersedge My Kinda Guy (Miiku formerly Marlon) has flown off to his new family in South Australia and Watersedge Beautiful Doll (Karhu formerly Chrissy) has a new home in Brisbane.

The very best of luck for a long and happy life with your new charges!

June 10th
It has been a very, very sad day at Watersedge Kennels.

The chapter entitled Ch. Watersedge Crown Jewels (CJ) has been written. CJ was a puppy bred from the very first litter of Australian Kelpies registered under the Watersedge prefix, from Nellarou The Whistler (Winston) and our Teddy Bear, Ch. Ringbarka Gemma (Gemma).

CJ was taken from us very suddenly. Many thanks to Michael Woodcock for the care that was given to CJ over his lifetime and all at the Vet Lounge in recent times.,

CJ was with friends for 4� years before he came home again to live. His show career started with a bang and he never looked back.

He was retired before he attained his Grand Champion title due to a scare with testicular cancer. He was still shown in Veteran and Neuter classes, taking out an "In Show" award 2 years ago at the Cattle Dog & Kelpie Club of QLD's Championship Show. CJ was 13!

CJ slept by the bed and it is not the same not having him at arms reach.

Rest In Peace my precious boy. We will see you at the Rainbow Bridge when the time comes.....

June 8th
Our 2nd litter of puppies born to our Finnish Lapphunds Ch. Herding Instinct's Herra Watersedge (imp SWE) (Markku) and Ch. Watersedge Alias Anja (Sanni aka Poppy) have undergone their ACES (Australian Canine Eye Scheme) tests today with all pups "normal". Very happy with that!

June 5th
Many thanks to Cyanea and Livy for their expert handling of the Finnish Lapphunds again today.

Ch. Herding Instinct's Herra Watersedge (imp SWE) - pending - (Markku) was shown to Best of Breed by Livy with Watersedge Destiny's Child (Beyonce) the Runner-Up Best of Breed.

The "Princess" Grand Ch. Theldaroy Wild Not Me was awarded her 2nd Veteran in Group in a row. This is what Laani did in her younger years, consistent back-to-back class in Group wins. She is so special.

Not content with that, Laani also partnered Cyanea to first place in the 13-18 years Child Handlers which has qualified her for the Brisbane Royal Show this year (Ekka). Well done!

June 4th
Very, very happy to announce that our lovely Finnish Lapphund boy Herding Instinct's Herra Watersedge (imp SWE) (Markku) has obtained the final points he needed to claim his Australian Champion Title today!

Markku arrived in Australia at the end of September 2010. After what seemed an eternity he finally came home to Watersedge in later October. He commenced his show career at the end of January this year and after a few "light" months of showing has acheived his conformation title, despite having no coat!

Many thanks also to Livy for showing Mr Markku to his Best of Breed today and the final points for his title!

Many thanks also to his breeder Cattlin Marques of Herding Instinct's Kennels in Sweden for breeding such a lovely boy and for also entrusting him to me "down under" in Australia.

Markku has been busy sweet talking the girls this year with 3 litters on the ground at the moment. I am sure that his progeny will be as successful as their father and Watersedge Kennels wishes this same success for all who have "show puppies" starting their own careers in the near future.

Watersedge still has some puppies available which are ready to go to new homes within the next few weeks.

It was also a day for the original "Princess" to go out and strut her stuff. Grand Ch. Theldaroy Wild Not Me (Laani), who remains the Finnish Lapphund breed's only female Grand Champion, was awarded Best Veteran in Group.

Laani at 9� years young still has what it takes and has proven today why she was so highly awarded in her younger days. It has been several years since Laani was in the spotlight and she has just taken up where she left off... Thanks Cyanea for making her day!

June 3rd
Happy 1st Birthday wishes to Watersedge Kings Counsel (Rex).

Rex was the only surviving puppy from the mating between our Finnish Lapphunds Grand Ch. Watersedge Alias Aleksi (iid FIN) (Aleksi) and Ch. Theldaroy Best Example (Minka) last year. I am sure you have been thoroughly spoiled!

June 1st
It is a day of celebration and of mourning.

Celebration of the first birthday of the Finnish Lapphund puppies born to Ch. Janoby All About Aslann (Aslann) and Ch. Watersedge Tru Destiny (IID FIN) HT (Jaana). Jaana produced an Australian record of 11 puppies, 9 of which survived.

Many Happy returns to Watersedge Destiny's Aura (Aura), Watersedge Destiny's Tapestry (Charlie), Watersedge Enchanted Destiny (Raiven), Watersedge Sweet Destiny (Vienna), Watersedge Destined To Inspire (Benn), Watersedge Destined For Glory (Meeko), Watersedge Date With Destiny (Yuuki), Watersedge Destined To Shine (Finn) and of course our own Watersedge Destiny's Child (Beyonce)!

Puppies from this litter have outdone our expectations with some performing extremely well in the show ring from Baby Puppy class wins right through to major Best of Breed wins under Finnish specialist judges. Congratulations to you!

Watersedge Kennels is also in mourning having heard that Watersedge Magic Millions (Maggie) (exp NZ) has gone to the Rainbow Bridge.

Maggie and her brother Keller (Watersedge Triple Crown) were sent to Dot Janssen of Minyana Kennels in New Zealand almost 11 years ago. They had only recently celebrated their 11th Birthday.

Heartfelt sympathy to Gary and Dot and also to Morris and Sandi for this loss. RIP little angel. You have touched many peoples lives and have made those lives that much brighter.
