March 27th
Watersedge Unique Design (Ziggy) has followed in his Great Great Uncle's pawsteps.

15 years ago Grand Ch. Ringbarka Ginger Meggs (Ginger Meggs) - the love of my life - was awarded the Australian Kelpie Baby Puppy of Breed at the Toowoomba Royal Show. This same award was today bestowed on Ziggy and I am very proud to see this.

Congratulations again to Corinne Chandler who is having some good successes with this young Red & Tan boy.

March 24th
March it seems, is a month of celebrations for Watersedge Kennels. Celebrations for those still with us and those who are no longer who have made a profound impact.

Today marks the birthday for the first litter of Finnish Lapphunds for Watersedge Kennels. This litter was born in quarantine on Good Friday 4 years ago.

They are a credit to their mother Ch. Fidelis Haltiatar (imp FNL) (Taru) and her "husband" FNL/LTU Ch. Fidelis Alias Amicus (FNL) owned by Katja Rantanen.

Many thanks again to Eva Niemi for sending me such a special gift and to my friend Deb Neumann (for being there to whelp this litter whilst I was organising a flight!). This litter has been very special and I am very grateful to have had such a start with this side of Watersedge Kennels.

Happy Birthday to - Grand Ch. Watersedge Alias Aleksi (Aleksi), Ch. Watersedge Tru Colours (Katja), Ch. Watersedge Tru Destiny (Jaana), Ch. Watersedge Tru Diamond (Sylvi), Ch. Watersedge Tru Calling (Enya) and Watersedge Tru Magic (Zana).

March 14th
Yet another birthday to celebrate with it being Ch. Theldaroy Best Example's (Minka) turn today. It seems like only yesterday that I brought this exquisite girl home, to be the second Finnish Lapphund for Watersedge Kennels.

March 9th
Our first ever set of twins (Australian Kelpies) - Ch. Watersedge Star Dust (Dusty) and Ch. Watersedge Sweet Melody (Melody) also celebrated a birthday today.

However, our celebrations have turned to sorrow. My gorgeous "Teddy Bear" Ch. Ringbarka Gemma (Gemma) has lost her battle against old age. Gemma was the matriarch of Watersedge Kennels - when the kennel consisted only of Australian Kelpies.

She had been with us the longest of any of our dogs. She celebrated her 15th birthday in November last year and would have celebrated another 15 year milestone from when she came to live with us on the 19th March.

Gemma was my inspiration and best friend and was never far from my side. She was always the "special one".

Yesterday she and her daughter Ch. Watersedge Evening Star (Evie) were visited by Evie's daughter Watersedge Evening Shadow (Pippin). It was the last family get together and will always be a very special memory, as Evie was always Gemma's favourite and Pippin was Evie's.

Gemma is also survived by a son from her first litter - Ch. Watersedge Crown Jewels (CJ), also one of Gemma's favourites.

God's speed my angel - I will never know the likes of you again.

March 5th
Many happy returns to Ch. Watersedge Evening Star (Evie) who is celebrating her birthday. Evie is our only black female Australian Kelpie.

She was the first pup that we kept from Ch. Ringbarka Gemma (Gemma) and was always one of the favourites.
