Stardate..........2009

August 30th
Watersedge Sno Drift (Toska) the first of Ch. Janoby All About Aura's (Roara) puppies and our only cream boy in this Finnish Lapphund litter, has left on a roadtrip with his grandparents...

Watersedge wishes Sue & Gerard Burnside of Miavig Kennels all the very best for a successful show career with the new addition to their family and show team. Toska will be the first cream Finnish Lapphund to be campaigned extensively in metropolitan New South Wales. Not only do we anticipate that he will cause quite a senasation in Syndey when Gerard first takes him out and about but that he will also excel as an ambassador for this lovely breed!

I can only wonder what his maternal grandfather Grand Ch. Brambleway Aku will think when this little fellow arrives with Sue, Gerard and Panda!

The first of our Finnish Lapphund puppies and the first girl from Ch. Janoby All About Aura's (Roara) recent litter has left home. Watersedge All About Affection (Talvi) has gone to live with her half brother Watersedge Alias Akseli (Finn) and his human family - Wayne, Sharon, Immy & Gabby Moore.

She is going to be the special little princess for the family and I am sure that she will get exactly what she wants! She could not be going to a better home.

I am hoping to see her and Finn try their hands at herding if Wayne finds the time.

The final set of photos with all of the puppies is now in the gallery and I thank the Moore family and Sue & Gerard Burnside for their assistance in obtaining these final photos.

Watersedge has visitors again. Sue & Gerard Burnside of Miavig Kennels in New South Wales have arrived to view the grandchildren! They have brought for a visit Miavig Colours Of The Wind (Panda), their beautiful "wild colour" girl from their litter last year. She is just stunning!

Another visitor for Watersedge with Watersedge Alias Akseli (Finn) bringing his human family to spend some time. It is the first time that Finn has been to visit since he left home early last year.

It was a lovely day and we thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to sit and relax in the midst of what has been a very busy schedule with friends whilst the Kelpies and Lappies enjoyed the time with their visitor!

Finn's sisters Ch. Watersedge Tiger Lily (Heidi) and Ch. Watersedge Sno Lily (Lylli) had a lotof fun playing tag with their brother. All furkids very tired after such an eventful day.

We have had special visitors today. Anne and Janne from Finland dropped in to see the Finnish Lapphund puppies. Anne commented that we have the highest population of Finnish Lapphunds that she has seen outside of Finland!

Ch. Fidelis Haltiatar (imp FNL) (Taru) was especially impressed as Janne whispered to her in her native language!

Wayne & Sue Sharp of Janoby Kennels are on their way home today as well. They have a stowaway in our lovely Finnish Lapphund Ch. Watersedge Tru Colours (IID) (Katja) who has left for a romantic holiday. Some girls have all the fun!

Finnish Lapphund day at the EKKA - Brisbane Royal Show!

Whilst Watersedge did not come away with one of the major awards it was nevertheless enjoyable to participate in the show. We had interstate visitors from Sydney and Melbourne in attendance this year.

I was very pleased that Ch. Watersedge Tru Destiny (IID) HT (Jaana) was awarded the 1st placing in the Open Class, Ch. Watersedge Sno White (Miia) 2nd placing in the Australian Bred Class with Ch. Watersedge Sno Lily (Lylli) a 2nd place and Ch. Watersedge Tiger Lily (Heidi) 3rd place in the Intermediate Class.

Another year for the Australian Kelpies has been and gone at the The Brisbane Royal Show - aka "the EKKA".

This is the first time in many years that two-toned Australian Kelpies have made an appearance.
Ch. Engleforest Jarrah (Jarrah), Watersedge Unique Design (Ziggy) - owned by Corinne Chandler of Kelprin Kennels, Watersedge Designer Label HT (Abby) and Watersedge Private Collection (Ivy-Rose) were out representing Watersedge.

Jarrah was placed 2nd in his class; the Best of Breed Australian Kelpie ultimately coming from his competition in this class. Ziggy was awarded 1st in his class, whilst Abby and Ivy-Rose had to be content with a 2nd placing each in their respective classes.

However, Ziggy's girlfriend Ringbarka Flaming Star (Star) was the star of the show again. She is the first Australian Kelpie to be awarded Baby of Breed at the EKKA. This class has only been sanctioned this year. Very special to be won by a two-tone! Congratulations Corinne.

Watersedge has also had visitors arrive in the form of Wayne & Sue Sharp of Janoby Kennels with a trailer full of Finnish and Swedish Lapphunds!

Finally we have had a bit of a "breather" at Watersedge, a time to relax a little and just enjoy a bit of Queensland sunshine. The weather now seems to be warming a little of a daytime.

Our lovely litter of Finnish Lapphund is 5 weeks old and the puppies have had their first taste of the outside world over the last few days. It has been very pleasing to watch them take these steps.

Latest photos now in the Gallery.
